- Affiliated to the prestigious University of Mumbai, since its inception in 1960
- R. College of Commerce & Economics has an enrollment of more than 6000 students in its degree as well as in its junior college, with an equal number of boys and girls.

College with a CGPA of 3.72 on a scale of 4, the highest CGPA in India under the revised scheme and the highest score in Maharashtra till date.

International Linkages of the College
On 11th June to 8th July, Students from Borough of Manhattan Community College, New York This SIP had 13 students and 1 faculty from the BMCC, experiencing India through a cultural, academic and social immersion programme at H.R. College. This involved a combination of lectures, visits and workshops to render a holistic experience of the Indian Culture and how various social issues are faced and tackled by the country.
in his address Consul General Bale spoke of being raised in an era of constancy and noted that the students have been born in an era of change, change that opened up avenues of new learning and new career opportunities. He spoke about the globalization of H.R. College and also discussed social initiatives taken by the youth and developing themselves to be young entrepreneurs. He noted that more and more youth today want to set up their own enterprises. He focused on how people should have good business ethics along with economic agendas. Mr. Carl Tang, the Assistant Manager, Undergraduate Recruitment and Admissions Office visited H.R. College to give an info session on undergraduate programs.
28th August, University of Queensland & Venture India, Brisbane Australia, Mr. Michael Kasprowicz who is a founding partner of Venture India visited HR College with a delegation from the University Of Queensland Business School.
