About HR College Mumbai

Visionary Principal Kundnani who, along with Barrister Hotchand Advani, reconstituted the Hyderabad Sind National Collegiate (HSNC) Board in Mumbai, and set about restarting the two colleges the Board already ran in Sind, pre-Partition.

One was the D.G. National College, which was the very first college founded by the HSNC Board in Sind in 1921,and of which Principal Kundnani was Principal at the time of Partition. The second was the College of Commerce & Economics, started with the financial support of the merchant Bhaiband community of Hyderabad.

An interesting, and not entirely coincidental, fact is that when it first started in 1945, H.C. Malkani was appointed as its Principal – and when the College restarted in Mumbai in 1960, the mantle yet again fell upon the industrious H.C. Malkani, to take on the ‘principal’ role in mentoring and remaking the destiny of an institution that was so closely linked to his own! It was almost as though the two, the College and Principal H.C. Malkani, were a match made with divine exactitude that not even the ruinous Partition could rent asunder.

In the intervening years, between his two stints as Principal of the College, a lot had transpired. Most significantly, the map of the Sub Continent was irrevocably altered, and with it the lives of thousands of dispossessed Sindhis – all of who had to run helter-skelter overnight.

It acts as a liaison between the corporate sector and the young, aspirational students of our college. The Placement Cell strives to groom students for the industry while assisting them in getting varied and suitable job opportunities. International Linkages of the College

On 11th June to 8th July, Students from Borough of Manhattan Community College, New York This SIP had 13 students and 1 faculty from the BMCC, experiencing India through a cultural, academic and social immersion programme at H.R. College. This involved a combination of lectures, visits and workshops to render a holistic experience of the Indian Culture and how various social issues are faced and tackled by the country.

in his address Consul General Bale spoke of being raised in an era of constancy and noted that the students have been born in an era of change, change that opened up avenues of new learning and new career opportunities. Until now, management programmes were imparted to graduate students from any stream. That is until the Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) was introduced by the University of Mumbai in 1999. Realizing the needs of the industry, H.R. College has devised its own style of teaching the programme to equip the students with the required skill sets At HR, we aim to develop managers with a sense of passion, creativity and commitment.
