St. Joseph’s College of Commerce, formerly a part of St. Joseph’s College was established in the year 1882 as an educational initiative by the French foreign mission Fathers. In 1937, the management of the college was handed over to the Jesuits, a worldwide Catholic religious order with a special focus on education. St. Joseph’s College of Commerce offers placement and career support to students on and off campus. The Training cell organises skill development sessions and the pre-placement activities help the students prepare themselves for the internship programmes and campus placements. The placement process is thus, an ecosystem that aids students and provides assistance with career guidance and placement. The Placement Cell has maintained database of companies which is made available to the students who need help for finding internship in the fields of their choice. Also, off campus placement assistance is continually provided to the students who are not placed through the cell as and when companies approach with their requirements. As a concluding part of placement activities, the cell initiates a formal feedback mechanism via structured questionnaires to be filled by the companies visiting the institution to enable continuous enhancement of student quality. EY Global organised a National Level Competition titled ‘Young Tax

Professional of the Year 2021’ in the month of August 2021 for the pre-final

year students. The Competition had more than 3,000 students participating

all over the country.

The placement cell is into its fifth year of the EY India Scholarship

Programme. An initiative wherein EY awards a one lakh scholarship and an

eight-week internship opportunity to the winner based on the business idea

showcased by him/her.

Just as every year Teach for India Fellowship Programme was open to all the

students giving them an opportunity to serve the society as well as

add value to their career.

As last year, this year too we have had the big 4s and few mid sizes CA firms’

St. Joseph’s College of Commerce is an autonomous private Commerce- college located at Ashok Nagar in central B’lore, Karnataka The college was formerly a part of St. Joseph College and the Department of Commerce was established in the same parent college. In 1972, the department became an independent college by getting its name as St. Joseph College of Commerce. The college became an autonomous institution in the year 2004, and now the college has its own independent examination and recognition system.

SJCC is affiliated to B’lore University, recognized by UGC, and accredited by NAAC. St. Joseph College of Commerce has been recognized as a “College with Potential for Excellence” by UGC in recent years because of developing structure and systems for constant improvement in the overall performance of the college.

SJCC is managed and administered by the Jesuits, a worldwide Catholic community with a special focus on education. SJCC B’lore is also recognized as a research centre by the B’lore University.
