About HR College

H.R. College of Commerce & Economics, a co-educational college has an enrollment of more than 6000 students in its degree as well as in its junior college, with a perfect gender balance in the student body.

HR College was affiliated to University of Mumbai since its inception in 1960. Due to its excellent NAAC achievements, the Maharashtra government and RUSA decided to recommend the State Government for setting up a Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Cluster University with HR College of Commerce and Economics, Churchgate, Mumbai as a lead college and two other colleges, namely Kishinchand Chellaram College, Churchgate, Mumbai and Bombay Teachers’ Training College, Colaba, Mumbai as comprising constituent colleges.

Placement Cell – H.R. College

The Placement Cell of H.R. College is a Student Managed professional body, which is for the students, by the students, and of the students. It acts as a liaison between the corporate sector and the young, aspirational students of our college. The Placement Cell strives to groom students for the industry while assisting them in getting varied and suitable job opportunities. The opportunities offered as quantitative as well as qualitative, to correctly fit the skills of the students.

The Placement Cell believes in a collaborative approach and therefore does not restrict the corporate engagement to only the third year, ready to graduate students. As a student body, we acknowledge the need for the ‘trial and error method for our students from the very first year. Conducting rigorous internship drives, irrespective of any factors has been one of our strongest initiatives to give our students exactly what is required in their day and age.

Placement Experience: In the third year, students are eligible for the Placements i.e. 5th semester. Companies like Godrej, KPMG, and Jp morgan visit the campus. The average or say minimum package offered is 3 Lakh and goes up to 10 lahks. 90% of the students get placed with an average package of 5 lakh and many students end up getting a package of 7-8 lakh. I want to do MBA from a top business school in India.

Internships Opportunities: Companies like TATA, Meraki Kangen water, Schindler Indoa pvt. Ltd, Reliance group offered the internship here and the minimum stipend was 5000 while Reliance group wanted an unpaid internship. The roles offered vary, they are business development executive, Recruiters, digital marketing, customer relationship etc.

Rules and Regulations for Undergraduate Program

The UGC has given the rationale for introduction of the Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) which highlights important features such as: enhanced learning opportunities, ability to match learners’ scholastic needs and aspirations, inter-institution transferability of learners (following the completion of a semester), part-completion of an academic programme in the institution of enrolment and part- completion in a specialized (and recognized) institution, improvement in educational quality and excellence, flexibility for working learners to complete the programme over an extended period of time, standardization and comparability of educational programmes across the country etc.

The CBCS represents a much-required change to a learner- centric education and facilitates self-paced learning. It also provides more flexibility to the learners allowing them to choose inter-disciplinary courses, change majors, programmes, etc. The system also facilitates learner mobility as credits earned at one institution can be transferred to another.
