About BCom Accountancy-Taxation at Christ University

Christ University Direct Admission in BCom Accountancy-Taxation

The Programme aims to develop industry-ready Accounting and Tax professionals by honing skills on in-demand tools and techniques and standard accounting practices. The programme provides a strong theoretical foundation to critical components like Financial Reporting, Goods and Services Tax (GST), Customs Procedure, Transfer Pricing Methods and issues in Cross Border Tax Compliance. The curriculum is designed to inculcate practical skills with strong theoretical foundation to handle issues in compliances with regulatory aspects.

The Programme is designed in line with the requirements of the National Education Policy (NEP) spanning across six semesters comprising of Major courses, Minor courses, Skill Enhancement Courses and Ability Enhancement Compulsory Courses, Internships and Project work and Value-Added Courses. The students who successfully complete one year (two semesters) with the required number of credits has an option to exit the Programme, they will be awarded a Certificate/. The students who successfully complete two years (four semesters) with required number of credits and opt to exit the programme will be awarded an UG Diploma in Accountancy and Taxation.

The students who successfully complete three years (six semesters) and opt to exit the program, will be awarded a Degree in Bachelor of Commerce (Accountancy and Taxation). The Programme involves a plethora of Co-curricular and Extra Curricular activities which aim to hone leadership, communication and team-building skills among students.

BCom (Accountancy and Taxation Honours)

The students who successfully complete four year/eight semesters and satisfy the minimum credit requirement as per NEP guidelines, will be awarded with BCom (Accountancy and Taxation Honours).

BCom (Accountancy and Taxation / Honours with Research)

The Students who secure 75% marks and above in the first six semesters and wish to undertake research at the undergraduate level can choose a research stream in the fourth year. They should do a research project or dissertation under the guidance of a faculty member of the University. The research project/dissertation will be in the major discipline. The students, who secure 160 credits, including 12 credits from a research project/dissertation, are awarded with BCom (Accountancy and Taxation Honours with Research)

Eligibility

Eligibility for the programme is a pass with a minimum of 70% at the +2 level (Karnataka PUC / ISC / CBSE / State Boards) in the Commerce stream from any recognised Board in India.

Candidates writing the +2 examinations in March-May 2024 may apply with their class X and XI marks.

Students pursuing International curriculum must note that eligibility is according to AIU stipulations:

Applicants pursuing IB curriculum must have 3 HL and 3 SL with 24 credits.

Applicants pursuing GCE / Edexcel must have a minimum of 3 A levels with a grade not less than C.

# The fee for Karnataka domicile students, as indicated in the table, is the actual fee payable and excludes the scholarship amount.

It is to be noted that though the fee is fixed for four years, there may be a periodic nominal increase to meet the rise in costs.

1. NRI fee is applicable for the first year for candidates who have studied foreign syllabus (has to be approved by UGC / AIU) in the qualifying examination of study in India. In subsequent years Other Indian States fee will be applicable.

(The above condition is not applicable to NRI and candidates applied under NRI Category).

2. NRI fee is applicable for the full duration of the Programme for candidates who;

    2.1. Have pursued and completed their last qualifying exam from outside India.

    2.2. Are NRI and candidates who have applied under the NRI category.

3. To claim the Indian category fee, the candidates should have studied last 7 years in India. (Not applicable for OCI, PIO and Foreign Nationals).

4. Admission registration fee of INR 5000/- is non-refundable in the event of cancellation of admission. This fee will be apart from cancellation charges if applicable

5. All Candidates If “Selected” after appearing for the final selection process, the fee may be paid through the following option:

Payment can be made through Net banking / NEFT / RTGS

Payment / Transfer of fees does not guarantee admission.

Miscellaneous Information

·         The University does not collect any type of Capitation / Donation other than the fee mentioned in the website.

·         If the Application is incomplete or incorrect, the University Management has the right to reject it.

·         Kindly do not send any original marks cards through post or courier.

·         All selected candidates must note that admission is provisional and subject to University rules.

·         Ignorance of the Terms, Conditions, and guidelines will not be considered as an excuse for non-fulfillment of any stipulated process.

·         It is to be noted that though the fee is fixed for 2 years, there will be a periodic nominal increase to meet the rise in costs.

·         Fees should be paid within the stipulated date for the first year and before the commencement of final examinations of the 2nd semester, 4th Semester, 6th Semester, and 8th Semester for the consecutive years.

·         All those admitted to the programme will have to purchase a laptop at their own cost.

·         Admitted student who wish to avail Bank Loan will be provided a recommendation letter on request by presenting the original fee paid receipt to the Office of Admissions.

·         The decision of the Admission Committee is final and binding.
